Looking Cute and Comfy in Class

There is always that dilemma every college girl faces when she gets ready for class in the morning, "Am I going to try today, or just be comfy?" It's a tough question that seldom has a correct answer. Everyone has those days where they just want to sit in sweatpants and a sweatshirt and not care what the world thinks, but we all also want to look cute when we go to class. I mean if you don't you know you'll run into someone you want to impress. Well, I had the idea to share some of my favorite outfits to wear to class. I chose these outfits to share because they allow me to be as comfy as if I was in sweatpants, but I'm still not embarrassed to run into the cute baseball boys who live on the floor below me.

It's important to be both comftorable and adorable in class because then you feel confident in class as well. You won't mind answering the teacher's questions or making that brilliant point you just came up with in your head since you're not afraid to have everyone look at you. After all, you look good remember?!

So I have divided the outfits into three sections:
1. Comfy Sweaters. These can be adorable with jeans, or leggings. I LOVE riding boots, so I wear mine practically everyday, but of course you can change them out for something else.

2. Flannels. Flannels are the definition of comfy, and when you throw a vest over it you add a bit of prep to it as well! (Especially when you're wearing you're signature pearl earrings).
This flannel is from the boy section of American Eagle so it's double the comfy of a normal flannel!

3. The last pieces that I love are Wrap Cardigans. They come in all kinds of patterns and again can be worn with anything! Not to mention it's kinda like wearing a blanket around you all day!
This one is my favorite piece currently in my closet! It is so comfy but the aztec print and bright pink color really make it stand out! I bought it from Francessca's.

This one is just like the other one except a bit more neutral, but just as comfy to wear. Again, I bought it from Francessca's.

Obviously, these outfits are all based on my personal style and what I had available to me in my closet! They are simply to get you inspired for the next time you get ready for class!

What's you're favorite thing to wear to class? Let me know!!

Interesting Article on School Dress Code

For the first time in school, I am no longer told what to wear. I get to decide if I look professional, preppy, or like a typical college student who just rolled out of bed, and I LOVE it! So, why does this matter? Well, I saw this article linked on Facebook, and it caught my eye. I think it has some really interesting points in it that I would like to share as well. I firmly believe that every woman is BEAUTIFUL. No matter what you size you wear or what you look like, every woman deserves to feel confident and powerful because she is. Every woman has the right to decide how she wants to present herself to world because a confident woman is a POWERFUL woman, and a powerful woman is one of the most powerful forces on the earth.
So, if you have a minute, take a look here, and let me know what you think.
(This is the main photo from the article. I don't own anything or take any responsibility)
Stay preppy. Stay beautiful. Stay powerful.

Starting a New Semester

Winter Break has tragically come to an end now. Unfortunately, that means I can no longer sleep in every day and the inevitable and dreaded homework is back..... But, it also means new things to learn, and I get to spend everyday with my best friends all over again. So, I picked up a few things to hopefully make the semester go by a bit more smoothly.

  1. Notebooks: I get one single subject notebook for each class that I know I'm going to have to take notes in. These are also classes that I know do not have set Power Points to print out for notes.
  2. Colored Pens! I love colored pens. No study guide or notebook is completely without at least 3 different colors throughout! They truly make things so much easier to see and even easier to study!
  3. Binder Clips: These are great for keeping loose papers together that are just too large for paperclips. I also got various colors so that I can coordinate for different classes.
So those are my three main things I got for this semester. I also have other things from the previous semester that I have kept. Things like
  • Lilly Pulitzer Agenda Book: I literally have EVERYTHING in this planner. I write everything down in it from due dates for assignments to times for meetings. It is my saving grace. (All in pink ink of course!)
  • Lilly Pulitzer Notebook: I use this to make to-do lists for the week. I also have it for a list of homework to do over the weekend, and I also cross each assignment off when I finish it so I can see what I get done and how much is actually left and not just in my head.
  • Vera Bradley Folders: I love these folders cause they really last! I have had them and used them every day for 2 years now and they still look near new. I use one folder per class and carry my essential papers for that class in them from my room to class. They're a lot lighter than a large binder, which is great for my back while walking across campus.
So now I probably have enough to open my own office supply shop, but oh well! I'm prepared for anything.

What do you always need when you start something new?

Bow Obsession

I absolutely love bows! My absolute favorite is wearing them in my hair. They are great because you can be wearing a sweatshirt and leggings but if you add the bow it makes it look like you really tried to look pretty that day. So, I decided to make my own bows to wear! They are surprisingly easy to make.
You start with a piece of fabric that is 10.5"x8", a hot glue gun, and a barrette of any size that will fit your hair.
Then you fold the fabric into thirds.
Then the two sides are folded into the middle of the fabric.
The next step is to pinch the middle together. Once you have the bow the way you want it, you use the hot glue gun to glue the parts that are pinched together.
Then you want to glue the barrette to the back of the bow. The next step is to take a small strip of fabric and wrap it around the bow and through the back of the barrette.
To finalize the bow, hot glue where the fabric strip starts on the bow and then where it ends so it is secured. Then you're all done! You have a beautiful bow to wear anytime you want!
